The Rat Race

October 27, 2012

I am often humbled to work as a life coach. Hearing peoples honest stories of what they put up with and all. Over the years I have learnt so much about the human condition, the traps we build for ourselves and the stories-of-smallness we convince ourselves of. I could write a book.

One condition that I hear about almost on a daily basis is The Rat Race. I have worked with hundreds of people who tell me that they feel caught in the treadmill of life. Their work-day looks something like this… Get up, rush, commute, role-play, politic, rushed lunch, role-play, accomplish, ego play, abusive boss, drink alcohol, commute, beer, telly, fall asleep…. ALARM! Go do it again!

Or something similar.

What is your typical workday like? Is that how you want it to be? Have you ever considered that you could live your life differently?
They call it the rat race. If you live your life like that what does it make you? Are the rats being drugged up on anti-depressants to keep them quiet while they spend their lives in this way? Does your company post big profits? Does your boss care about the treadmill feelings that you may experience? Perhaps he lives that way too! Are you eating and drinking emotionally to numb the madness in all this? Where is it all heading?

A bit of a rhetorical outburst perhaps, but I wanted to get your attention to let you know that you don’t need to be a rat in any race.

I invite you to take a moment to STOP. Take a breath, look around you right now. Notice something you haven’t seen before. Then look back at yourself and take stock.
Are you living the life that you always dreamt of?

Many of my clients explore their relationship to the rat-race during our work together. As a life coach I can reveal to you the life skills that are necessary to get out of the race. I can help you bring real meaning into your life. My gift is to help you embrace your career as a path of meaning and happiness.

Take up the challenge of redesigning your relationship to the rat race. Using a safe and supportive coaching style that fosters your freedom of expression, I will challenge you, open you and inspire you. Together we will explore your truest nature. I will help you regain balance in your personal and working life and to align with your true values and fullest potential. Using a stimulating and customised coaching program, I will help you design and implement your great future.

If you are looking to change your life situation, if you describe yourself as lost, stuck or caught in the rat race get in touch, what do you have to lose?

Your Self is a magnificent thing. Do you have the balls to manifest it, with every body around you staring at you? Life Coaching can specialise in giving you balls!

Have a lovely Autumn 2012.

Til next time, Lee

Green Breakfast Smoothie

March 29, 2012

Ready to give your body some AMAZING FOOD?

I have been experimenting with the way that food affects my energy. I have been making this smoothie for a few weeks now… And have to say it changes my day… This is profound food. Give it a try x

This month’s recipe is Sarita’s morning green smoothie. She explains why it gives her such a good start to the day:

“The reason why I use this recipe is because I heard from various sources that our close relatives, the chimpanzee or the gorilla family, eat 80% greens and that maximum greens are the way to go for optimum health. As I travel a lot, it is hard to create an exclusively raw food diet. Therefore, I try to support my health through the breakfast green smoothie option. I love it! It keeps me purring along very nicely till lunchtime, and craving for snacks simply does not arise. All ingredients are organic, of course!

1 glass liquid (this can be various possibilities, such as fresh juice, water, coconut water, rice, oat or fresh almond milk, etc)
1 apple or pear
1 banana
1/2 avocado
1 handful of greens, (can be salad of any kind you have on hand)
A few soaked almonds
A few soaked sunflower seeds
A few soaked goji berries
1 spoon hemp protein powder
1 spoon green superfood mix (I use berry green)
1/2 spoon Tachyonized Green Matrix (this is a mix of blue green algae, spirulina and MSM which can be bought from Planet Tachyon)
1 dropperful Tachyonized water (see Planet Tachyon for tips on Tachyonizing water)
1 spoon Raw cacao powder or cacao nibs
1 spoon Bee pollen
1 spoon Udo’s omega oil
1 spoon maca root powder

Put all this into a blender and then pour the blended green goop into a BIG glass and take your time slurping it down. If it is not sweet enough for you, just add some dates. Within a few days, you will probably notice that your body feels amazing and is singing you love songs…..”

Enjoy!

Being of Greatest Service

January 27, 2012

I have been exploring ways to bring profound teachings to more people. I came across this quote today that inspired me to dig a little deeper and explore new ways of being in the world.

How can you be of greatest service to the greatest number of people, and in the process find the deepest wellspring of fulfillment within yourself. ~Arjuna

I am looking forwards to being of service to more people in 2012. The world needs more spiritual entrepreneurs.

What are you up to? How can you get to know yourself better? How can you change this year?

Christmas Light 2011

December 23, 2011

Many peeps will celebrate Christmas in a few days time, as I do in my own way. But whatever your religious or spiritual persuasion, this is a time of love and hope. I am stepping back for a few weeks to take in the grace of the season.

Over the past week or so I have received several good-will emails from the spiritual and personal development newsletters that I am subscribed to. One newsletter in particulate from Terry Patten over at Beyond Awakening really caught my attention and I was moved to share it here.

Something universal in the human spirit is rising at this time to celebrate the light that defiantly, brightly shines–even now, in what is (in the Northern Hemisphere) the darkest time of the year. While the lights sparkle and rich aromas and melodies rise up, the cold bites and the body yearns to hibernate.

It can be one of the most wonderful, and, paradoxically, one of the most difficult times of the whole year. We are made to notice light and fullness, but also darkness and emptiness; we are reminded of our connectedness, but also of our aloneness.

Every person we love (including every person, alive now or not, who we have ever loved) awakens our recognition of the Universal Beloved, That which is the essence of all that is lovable and loving, the One from whom we can never be separated.

Giving gifts is a way to remind ourselves of love, to enact our gratitude, to express the spirit of generosity that is our only sanity.

And yet so is being quiet and still, and noticing the fullness that is always already present.

And so, of course, life requires us to choose again. To find our heart’s “yes” to both light and darkness. To find a way to walk with love in this still only half-made world, this place where love is yet to fully take its hold.

May your heart find a way to practice this holiday season. May you find a way to notice the light in the darkness in every single body, to notice the non-separation that lets you reach across the gaps that face you!

Beautiful!

2011 was an exceptional year and 2012 promises to be a year of transformation.

I will be emailing my popular HAPPY NEW YOU newsletter on 1st January, be sure to sign up to receive it!

Onelove

Has anybody noticed that things seem to be changing?

December 9, 2011

photo by UggboyUgggirlHas anybody noticed that things seem to be changing?

It was business as usual for the last fifty years or so, but the current system is clearly fracturing. Things started to go off the rails in 2008 and since then world leaders have been scrambling to find solutions. People entrenched in the control structures of the old-way are grasping at solutions to a problem that they do not know how to fix. There are no experts when situations have never been experienced before. New agers see these global shifts as the blossoming of a global awakening, a new world order.

And the rest of us have been woken up by the Occupy Movement and are wondering what the frick is going on.
Above it all Mother Earth continues to demonstrate her meteorological wrath.

Over the past few years more and more of my coaching clients have entered our relationship asking BIG QUESTIONS about their own lives. But I feel positive; and I love sharing that positivity. There is such an opportunity here to change ourselves… and hence change the world.

In this era of change, those who choose to innovate and align with the needs of the Heart and Earth will be creators and pioneers of the future systems.

When we move beyond our lives being about money, success and acquisition great things can happen. Non grasping happiness can blossom. Dig deep, what is it that really makes people happy? What is it that really gives life energy, meaning and purpose? Any idea? Think of all the people you know. How many of them are truly happy? How many? And those that you can think of, those that are content with their lives, inspired, empowered and energized. What do they have in common?

The people I know who are unconditionally happy, who have a resilience that tides them through both triumph and defeat, are the people who have discovered the gift that they really want to give to the world. They know how to give it in a powerful way.

I can help you find your own AUTHENTICITY. When you find authenticity and you have found a way to express it, you are well on the way to a happier existence. And it is very likely that Mother Earth will appreciate you too. Your path needn’t be big and majestic. Your path will more likely be simple and loving. There really is nothing quite like loving somebody totally and being loved totally.

Many of my clients are hard working, productive, intelligent capable people living full-lives. Give me a call on 0845 402 1850 or visit my website http://www.greatlifecoach.co.uk to get in touch.

Have a peaceful day.

The American dream is giving way to the Great Global Awakening.

December 7, 2011

I have always been impressed by the teachings of Arjuna Ardagh @ The Translucent view.

The following article speaks very loudly about the kinds of things I see my clients grappling with every day.

We were reflecting on how much the “group think” has changed in the last years. From blog posts, to movies, to things that sell well, to courses, we are collectively waking up from the idea that the point of life is to make as much money as possible and accumulate the best toys. The American dream is giving way to the Great Global Awakening.

So if we move beyond our lives being about money, success and acquisition, then what is it that really makes people happy? What is it that really gives life meaning, and purpose, and energy?

Think of all the people you know. Think of the people who are most truly happy, in a multidimensional sort of way. People who are content with their lives, inspired, empowered, energized. What do they have in common?

Some people might say that it’s all about meditation, spiritual awakening, feeling oneness with God. But honestly, I know a lot of people who have really made that the central point of their lives, and they’re still looking for meaning.

Others might say that it’s all about love. Find the right partner, settle down together, have children, create a family, and that’s what makes it all sing. But, once again, that may do the trick for some people, but not for everybody.

I think it really comes down to what Danielle Laporte said: the people we know who are really, unconditionally happy, who have a resilience that tides them through both triumph and defeat, are the people who have discovered the gift that they really want to give to the world, and how to give it in a powerful way. As long as the answer to that question is authentic, and as long as you’ve found a way to express it to others, it does the trick every time.

For some people, this might be big and majestic: like inventing a new kind of computer, or ending world hunger, or writing a book which sells millions of copies. But other people have a gift that’s just as important, if not quite as visible: like raising beautiful children, or tending to a garden, or just loving one person so completely and totally, that nothing is being held back.

So what is it that really gives life meaning, and purpose, and energy? Get in touch perhaps we can help you find out.

How to fix the UK economy

December 7, 2011

Is this a funny article, or a possibility?

Dear Mr. Cameron,

Please find below our suggestion for fixing the UK’s economy.
Instead of giving billions of pounds to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.
You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:
There are about 10 million people over 50 in the work force.
Pay them £1 million each severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire. Ten million job openings – unemployment fixed
2) They MUST buy a new British car. Ten million cars ordered – Car Industry fixed
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed
4) They MUST send their kids to school/college/university – Crime rate fixed
5) They MUST buy £100 WORTH of alcohol/tobacco a week ….. And there’s your money back in duty/tax etc

It can’t get any easier than that!
P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances

If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know.

Also….. Let’s put the pensioners in jail and the criminals in a nursing home.
This way the pensioners would have access to showers, hobbies and walks.
They’d receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs etc and they’d receive money instead of paying it out.
They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance.
Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.
A guard would check on them every 20 minutes and bring their meals and snacks to their cell.
They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.
They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counselling, pool and education.
Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, PJ’s and legal aid would be free, on request.
Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens.
Each senior could have a PC a TV radio and daily phone calls.
There would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and the guards would have a code of conduct that would be strictly adhered to.
The criminals would get cold food, be left all alone and unsupervised. Lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week. Live in a tiny room and pay £600.00 per week and have no hope of ever getting out.

Think about this (more points of contention):
COWS Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Appleby almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the county of Cumbria?
And, they even tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 125,000 illegal immigrants wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

Not sure who wrote this but it is quite poignant!

Law of Attraction – What Osho had to say

December 7, 2011

Many of my clients make reference to The Law of Attraction. I came across a quote from the Indian sage Osho the other day that I feel very succinctly describes the law in action.

“If you cannot flower, existence is not going to shower flowers on you. Existence simply responds to you: whatsoever you are, existence gives you more of that. If you have many flowers within your being flowering, a million times more flowers will shower on you. If you have a deep depression, the existence helps that too – a million times more depression will come to you. Whatsoever you are will knock at your door. Whatsoever you are will be given to you more and more.”

It is only when we become our innate happiness that we can attract. Seeking happiness from the outside through things that we perceive will make us happy, will only lead to suffering.

Happy attracting!
